Remarks: After 60 years, on this day the US Air Force returned their land to FRAPORT in a big ceremony. This is the last regular C-17, receiving a water cannon salute. Parked at the military apron are all USAF aircraft which recently flew into FRA: Hercules, Starlifter, Galaxy, KC10, B707, and Globemaster. The Lufthansa 747 is the first German airliner to be parked on the military apron. Farewell US Troops, you made that airport special. C-17 captains words: "Thanks for 60 years of very good work, Globemaster C-17 is now out."

Remarks: Right after getting airborne on Rwy 01L we made a left turn, resulting in a beautiful overview of the SFO Int'l airport. Holding short of Rwy 28R is a United 744 bound for Frankfurt and right behind on TWY F is a Lufthansa 744 going as well for Rwy 28R and as well to Frankfurt. Right at the ATC Tower is the old Int'l Terminal which will be reconstructed or demolished shortly.

Remarks: Overview of the south cargo ramp... It is almost full - just two more spots left for other freighters. All that are already parked are really beauties: A Shanghai Cargo MD-11, MASKargo 747, Korean 747, Atlas 747, Nippon Cargo 747 and a Gemini DC-10. They all arrived within 30 minutes of each other to FRA. In the background are the almost empty A gates of T1.

Remarks: This is it!!! The first landing of the A380 at an international airport. I am very glad that it was 'my' airport. After touching on Rwy 25R he turned onto A TWY to reach gate E9.
